The Debut

Sunday, April 28th, Gerald and I decided to have a special viewing of our wedding at The Old Spaghetti Factory in Rancho Cucamonga.  We wanted to include our family and close friends who could not attend our wedding.  We bought out a conference room at the restaurant so that the occasion could be in a private setting and to make it a special moment.
The day of the dinner, I was extremely anxious for the dinner to start.  Half past six ended up approaching so quickly.  Once we made it to the dinner, it was awesome to see people we cared about come out to support us.  We even had two GREAT friends drive down from Vegas to be a part of the moment.  THANK YOU MIKE AND BRANDY!  While appetizers were served, photos from the wedding were being displayed on the projector.  Soon after, it was time to show the wedding.  While watching the DVD with everyone, I tried my best to not get emotional.  When I felt a tear coming, I would put my head down, or do something to fight the tears from falling.  I absolutely loved my wedding, it was all too precious!

That night, was not about revealing the wedding DVD to everyone.  It was more about revealing something else much more special to our parents, and everyone else there.  At the end of the DVD, while everyone was getting ready to leave, we uploaded the photo below---and waited---

Wait for it---wait for it---BOOM!
Our friends were the first to notice the photo, and started to congratulate us.  Gerald and I had to hush them; our parents had not yet noticed the photo on the projector.  We ended up hearing a, “What!” from Randi, Gerald’s mom.  I saw my father and mother with a big kool-aide smile, and of course, my father came to hug me.  It was such a special way to share our news with those we love.  My mom was the last I hugged, she was in shock.  The hardest thing before revealing the news, was keeping my pregnancy a secret from our parents.  Gerald and I wanted to tell our parents all at once and in person.  The way we chose to do it, was perfect!  At first I was scared that I was not going to have an ultrasound photo in-time for the dinner.  Thankfully, I was able too.  I had my first ultra sound three days before the announcement.  That week, I was 8 weeks, and blessed to be introducing baby Alexander to the people who we loved!
