October 31st

October 31st was Kaelin's first Halloween.  Growing up as a Christian I was never allowed to really celebrate Halloween.  Instead of going trick or treating, my parents would have us go to harvest festivals at church.  When I was younger, I did not understand, but I do now.  Gerald and I will also raise Kaelin the same way.  We wont celebrate Halloween with the ghost, goblins, etc.  But we will allow Kaelin to play dress-up and have some candy.  My mom bought Kaelin a cute little monkey costume to dress up as.  Kaelin loved looking at the monkey's face and would laugh when he would see it.  After I got Kaelin dressed and had him look at himself in the mirror, he was really confused, but laughed.  The head coach's wife made candy bags to pass out to the players, and invited the other wives to come help, along with the kids.  Kaelin made a new friend with one of the coaches daughters.  For some reason, all the little girls love my son.  The two just kept hugging, and laughing.  She would say to me, "he is my friend!"  Oh Lord, I can only imagine what high school will be like.  These girls will not like me, lol.
Anyways, the coaches had the night off, so we decided to take Kaelin to the mall to get candy.  I never knew the mall passed candy out like that, there were so many kids there.  It was a warm, safe environment for Kaelin, especially since he does not even know what this day really is.  There was a couple of costumes that amazed him, and about two that scared him.  When we passed the candy store, they had Yo Gabba characters on the stand.  As soon as Kaelin seen the characters he pointed and walked straight to them.  He picked up Brobie, then Muno, and tried to get Plex.  Kaelin loves him some Yo Gabba.  By the time we got home, Kaelin was fast asleep.  Now I have to figure out what to do with his candy he received.
