Weeks 20-22

Every week I seem to be experiencing something exciting.  I have already written about the excitement and the embarrassment of my 20-week surprise.  Within the last three weeks, I have experienced much more.  Besides my 20-week surprise, I was able to speak with the nurse and doctor to get some great news about my baby.  They told me that everything looks great, and there is not anything they see that worries them.  I was joking with the nurse about how it  looks like my child has his father’s head.  While she was doing measurements, she let me know that as of now his head is measuring to be in the normal size range of two inches.  When I heard that I could only think..Thank God, my labor may be that much easier.  Gerald and I were also told that our baby is measuring in the three percent longer range at the moment.  Once the necessary measurements were complete, the doctor questioned if I felt any movements yet.  He has not been the only person who has asked.  I have been explaining to everyone I have yet to feel anything, and if I did, I had no clue what it felt like.  Many people have told me it will feel like butterflies, or like gas. I have not felt either one.  Two days later, I finally felt movement!  It would have been great if I was up, but..my son decided he wanted to wake mommy up at 1:30 in the morning to her first feelings of movements.  The feeling was crazy!  I had no clue what was going on with my stomach at first.  As the movements progressed I started to figure out what it was.  I have been waiting forever just to feel life inside me.  Although I was unable to sleep for 30 minutes, waiting for the movements to settle was well worth the wait.

21 weeks:
The following week Gerald and I flew back to Florida.  As we were about to land, I felt a hard kick.  I looked at my stomach, and got kicked again.  I had to tell my son to knock it off..lol, and I think he heard me, for he stopped.  I am starting to feel movement almost every other day now.  For me, the movements do not feel like butterflies, nor gas, but more like air bubbles.  I had Gerald place his hand on my tummy to fell his son.  To see the excitement on his face when he felt the movements, was priceless.

At 22weeks, I have caught on to when it is exercise time for my baby.  He is the most active late at night.  While I sleep, he is moving.  Good thing I am used to it now, so I can sleep through the movements.  During the last 22weeks of my pregnancy, I have yet to be sick (knocks on wood).  I still get sluggish at times if I have not napped, but nothing big has been an issue.  This week, I learned that I could not eat canned vegetables.  Due to moving, Gerald and I did not want to buy many fresh vegetables or go grocery shopping.  For dinner Gerald had made some canned green beans that I usually love to eat.  Well..I guess my baby did not want that in me.  At first I was not sure that is what made me sick.  When I ate it again the next day, I was sure.  Now I know.
